4 Months Old!

Not the most exciting video in the world, but you can really see how much Lucy has grown in the past few months!!  We have struggled with reflux quite a bit, but thankfully we feel that she is beginning to outgrow it, so we are enjoying less screaming and more smiles!  This is a really fun age, as she begins to find her fingers and toes, experiment with making different sounds, and just recently has begun to squeal with delight when tickled!!  Will post more soon!!

Too funny!!

Lucy will be three weeks old tomorrow, it is amazing how much she changes every day!  We are very lucky that she is such a good baby, but definitely a strong-willed, opinionated little lady!  (Sorry Gavin, I am afraid she's got my stubborn streak!!) She loves music, and being rocked in her swing.  (BUT, if you let the music end, you will really get a feel for her lung capacity!!) We spend a lot of time just staring at her and laughing at the many funny faces she is making these days.  Just your typical, sleep-deprived, smitten new parents really! We had some photos taken of Lucy last week,  here are a few favourites!

She's here!

Lucy Porter Shaw was born at 4:05pm on 8th October, weighing 8.2 lbs!  Very chunky with a pretty remarkable head of hair--she looks like Elvis!  We are thrilled to have her here!  Because the labour was a bit longer with a few unexpected twists, we ended up staying in the hospital for five extra days so that Lucy and I could be monitored while on some precautionary antibiotics.  Very happy to be HOME now though, and slowly settling in to the new routine!  We had our first outing this morning, didn't go far but it was fun to get Lucy out for some fresh air and a short stroll!

Getting close now!  The due date is only a little over two weeks away, and Gavin and I are just waiting for this little lady's arrival!  We cannot wait to meet her.  

We thought that setting up this blog might be an easy way for us to share news/photos/videos once Baby Shaw arrives, so hopefully we are tech-savvy enough to work it out!  I have posted below a brief tour of the nursery...sorry if my cinematography makes you dizzy--my first attempt with the flip video and I am sure my waddling is not helpful either!!
